The former 'Charmed' actress gets support from Jessica Chastain and Heather Matarazzo after being booted by her 'wussy acting agent' for speaking out against sexism in Hollywood.

AceShowbiz - Rose McGowan reveals on Twitter that she has been let go by her agency. The announcement comes several days after she revealed to her online followers a sexist note attached to an audition script for an unspecified Adam Sandler movie.

"I just got fired by my wussy acting agent because I spoke up about the bulls**t in Hollywood. Hahaha. #douchebags #awesome #BRINGIT," she wrote. "The awesome thing about being an artist? You can't be fired from your own mind. #FREEDOM."

She has since received support from fellow actresses including Jessica Chastain who wrote, "As do I. Her treatment confirms the misogyny underpinning the industry. She should be celebrated for speaking out." Heather Matarazzo also offered her support, "@rosemcgowan love you. You got this, we got this, and WE GOT YOU!!"

The "Princess Diaries" alum added, "I wish more women would speak up and help in this industry. It can't just be a few of us. Put fear aside and take a stand.Stop being selfish. Tell your stories. Name names. Call out the mysoginists and the ones who are complicit. They only stay in power because we let them."

"I'm just so f**king tired of having duct tape over my mouth, but I also have a family to support. It's the story for so many of us. We need To know that we will be supported and not blacklisted from this industry. Where are the supporters who will say that we are safe to speak out. We got your back. #twitterrant #womeninfilm #Equality."

Last week, Rose McGowan uploaded a casting note that read, "Please make sure to read the attached script before coming in so you understand the context of the scenes. -Wardrobe Note: Black (or dark) form fitting tank that shows off cleavage (push up bras encouraged). And form-fitting leggings or jeans. Nothing white."

The actress explained in her tweet, "casting note that came w/script I got today. For real. name of male star rhymes with Madam Panhandler hahahaha I die." A few days later, she added, "I was insulted by the instructions to 'read the script for context.' Hahaha."

Another Hollywood actress who calls for gender equality is Meryl Streep. She recently wrote a letter to congress members urging them to vote for women's equal rights. "A whole new generation of women and girls are talking about equality - equal pay, equal protection from sexual assault, equal rights," she wrote. "I am writing to ask you to stand up for equality - for your mother, your daughter, your sister, your wife, or yourself - by actively supporting the Equal Rights Amendment."
