The 'No Fixed Address' band has to scrap the remaining dates of their North American roadshow after their lead singer was diagnosed with an operable cyst on his voice box.

AceShowbiz - Nickelback is forced to cancel the remaining dates of their North American tour due to Chad Kroeger's health issues. The lead singer has been diagnosed with an operable cyst on his voice box. He will undergo surgery in 3 weeks following vocal rest ordered by doctors.

"I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans," Chad said in a statement. "I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible."

Guitarist Ryan Peake and bassist Mike Kroeger also apologized in a video message. "We completely understand people will be upset about this but unfortunately I don't know what you do in these situations. Sometimes these things happen," Peake said. "We need him to properly take care of his voice so we can continue to do this."

The band cancelled shows over the weekend, hoping the additional rest and treatment would help but an unfortunate diagnosis from Chad's doctor revealed a more serious scenario. They hope to get back on the road as soon as the frontman gets better.

The band's European show in Helsinki, Finland is expected to go as scheduled on September 30. They are expected to return to North America in 2016. In the meantime, fans can get refunds for the canceled shows at the point of purchase.
