Queen Latifah and Martin Henderson to Join Jennifer Garner in 'Miracles from Heaven'

Patricia Riggen will direct the movie which is adapted from Christy Beam's novel of the same name which recounts how her daughter miraculously overcame an incurable disease.

AceShowbiz - Queen Latifah and Martin Henderson have been added to the cast of Sony's "Miracles from Heaven. Latifah and Henderson join Jennifer Garner who has already boarded the project helmed by Patricia Riggen.

Randy Brown ("Trouble with the Curve") is writing the script based on Christy Beam's book of the same name. Garner will play Beam whose daughter miraculously overcame an incurable, life-threatening digestive disorder. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Latifah will play a Boston waitress, whose life ends up transformed by her interaction with Beam and her daughter. Variety additionally reports that Henderson will play Beam's husband.

"Miracles from Heaven" reunites producers Joe Roth, T.D. Jakes and DeVon Franklin, the team behind 2014's hit "Heaven Is for Real", and is seen as a follow-up to that film which took in more than $100 million worldwide to become one of the biggest faith-based films of all time. It is slated for a March 18, 2016 release in the States.

Henderson will next be seen in "Everest (2015)" alongside Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes and Robin Wright. The 3D disaster drama is set to hit U.S. theaters on September 18. Garner, meanwhile, is filming upcoming comedy "Nine Lives (2016)" along with Kevin Spacey, Robbie Amell and Christopher Walken for a April 29, 2016 release.
