The leading stars of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' have not signed up for a possible movie adaptation of 'Grey', the newly announced fourth novel from E.L. James.

AceShowbiz - E.L. James announced this week that she had written "Grey", a fourth novel in her popular "Fifty Shades of Grey" books series. Sources say Universal Pictures owns the rights to adapt the novel into a film, but the leading stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are not secured for the possible fourth movie.

According to the sources, Johnson and Dornan are only signed for three "Fifty Shades" films, and their contracts don't include spin-off. Additionally, they had no idea that a fourth "Fifty Shades" novel was in the works.

So far, there is no confirmation that the fourth film in the "Fifty Shades" series is in the works. Universal Pictures declined to comment on the speculation, but many people suggest that a "Grey" movie is very likely since the first film in the "Fifty Shades" trilogy grossed $570 million worldwide.

The studio now focuses on the second film that is currently looking for a director. "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed", the second and third installments of E.L. James' trilogy, are set for a release in the U.S. on February 10, 2017 and February 9, 2018 respectively.

Following the success of "Fifty Shades of Grey", Open Road Films recently announced that they acquired "Fifty Shades of Black", a spoof on Johnson and Dornan's movie. Marlon Wayans who is set to star in the film is also producing and writing the script.
