Movie

Check out the troubles that the titular teddy bear and his best friend John cause as Ted fights for his civil rights to be recognized as a person.

AceShowbiz - Universal Pictures has debuted a new red band trailer for its upcoming comedy movie "Ted 2" via AMC. The trailer features an opening that looks familiar to "Star Wars" fans as it features references to the highly anticipated "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" coming out this December.

Not highlighting the storyline, the trailer mostly focuses on the titular teddy bear's silly behaviors. Full of R-rated jokes like the first film, the upcoming sequel follows Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) who teams up with his human friend, John (Mark Wahlberg), and lawyer Samantha Leslie Jackson (Amanda Seyfried) in order to fight for his civil rights to be recognized as a person in the eyes of the U.S. justice system. He does it because he wants to marry his girlfriend Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth) and has a child with her.

MacFarlane also directs, co-writes, and co-produces the R-rated comedy. The movie brings back writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild to team up with MacFarlane. "Ted 2" features cameos by Liam Neeson, Tom Brady, David Hasselhoff, Morgan Freeman and more. The comedy is scheduled to be released on June 26 in the U.S.

The previous movie, "Ted", had a successful opening on the North American box office reaching $54.4 million, which is the best opening ever for an original R-rated comedy title. It also amazingly grossed $550 million worldwide.
