The upcoming limited series will reportedly reunite Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell.

AceShowbiz - "Prison Break" is finding a way to escape from locked shelf. FOX is reportedly developing a revival of the fan-favorite drama that ran from 2005-2009. According to TVLine, the show may get a limited series that will consist of around 12 episodes and feature a closed-ended storyline, similar to "24: Live Another Day".

Details of the project are scarce, but it is said to reunite two of its main stars, Wentworth Miller (Michael) and Dominic Purcell (Lincoln). The two actors have recently worked together on The CW's "The Flash" where they guest starred as Captain Cold and Heatwave.

Earlier this year, Miller and Purcell said a "Prison Break" revival was likely happening. "We actually floated the idea to FOX very casually and they seemed very not casual about this interest," Miller told E! News at the 2015 Winter TCA Press Tour. "They seemed to think there was something there."

Purcell chimed in, "It's something that FOX is, as Wentworth said, potentially excited about." Miller added, "Maybe definitely excited about. Maybe definitely."

Miller went on sharing his idea for the possible limited series, "To go back and do something like we did at the end of season four, where there were those two standalone episodes were Sarah was in trouble; it was like a hidden chapter, we didn't know this, but we're going to share this with you, wouldn't it be cool to go back and layer one of those things in. Like another standalone chapter, this is what you didn't see before. Or a where are they now, it's five years later, limited series kind of thing. I think that'd be really cool."
