The suspended 'Nightly News' anchor may give up his position at the news program for a new role at the network when his suspension ends in August.

AceShowbiz - NBC is still determining Brian Williams' fate after the scandal that caused him to get suspended from "Nightly News". Although he may lose his seat at the weeknight news program he has anchored since 2004, the network reportedly wants to keep him in a new role.

According to a scoop from CNN, NBC News' chairman, Andy Lack, is keen of this option. "Andy's contorting to figure out a way to keep Brian," a source says. At the employee meetings, he reportedly asked them to "think creatively" about a new role for Williams.

Brian Williams was suspended for six months without pay after he was caught lying in February about coming under direct enemy fire in Iraq. He has since apologized and resigned his position at the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation Board of Directors.
