The George Clooney-starring film has narrowly beaten 'Pitch Perfect 2' in a disappointing debut of $32.2 million.

AceShowbiz - "Tomorrowland" has debuted with an estimated $32.1 million at the Memorial Day weekend box office, putting its four-day North American launch at a disappointing $40.7 million for Disney. It narrowly beat "Pitch Perfect 2".
The Brad Bird-directed sci-fi, adventure flick also opened internationally in countries like France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Mexico and the U.K., with Russia leading the way with approximately $3.6 million. It collected $26.7 million internationally for an approximate world total of $59 million this weekend.
"Pitch Perfect 2" came in a close second with an estimated $30.3 million in its second weekend, bringing its domestic total to nearly $125.4 million. Internationally, the Elizabeth Banks-directed musical earned around $15.2 million for a total of $61.7 million.
"Mad Max: Fury Road", meanwhile, landed third with approximately $23.8 million in its second week. "Poltergeist" followed behind with an estimated $23 million while "Avengers: Age of Ultron" snagged the fifth place with approximately $20.8 million for a domestic total of $404 million. In China, the superhero movie earned an estimated $210 million, bringing its global total to $1.263 billion.
