Rally 4 Peace concert, which was streamed on Jay-Z's tidal, was meant to bring awareness and peace to Baltimore after weeks of massive protests. Prince performed his protest song "Baltimore" there. He told the audience at that time, "The system is broken. We gotta fix it by building a new one right here, right now. It's gonna be all right, y'all. It's gonna be all right. We're gonna figure this thing out."

Jay-Z said in a statement on Friday, "I am honored to join Prince in his mission to inspire through the uniting power of music and be able to offer a platform where this moment can be shared globally. We invite all to experience the music and contribute in their own way to promote peace, tolerance and understanding. Our prayers go out to Freddie Gray's family and every family affected by brutality and senseless violence."

His streaming service Tidal has offered to match donations made to the Baltimore Justice Fund, which was founded after Freddie's death to "improve police accountability and increase racial justice."
