Jennifer Lawrence Adores Joan Rivers in Her Heart Though Criticizing 'Fashion Police'

In a recent interview, Melissa Rivers revealed her personal conversation with the 'Hunger Games' star who adored her mom 'because she was funny.'

AceShowbiz - Though Jennifer Lawrence once criticized Joan Rivers' show for its mean jokes, she actually adores the comedian. It was revealed by Melissa Rivers in a recent interview she had with Howard Stern on SiriusXM radio.

Melissa shared to Howard that she recently had a nice conversation with J-Law. "I just had an amazing experience with Jennifer Lawrence who at the end was quite publicly against 'Fashion Police' and something that had been said," the 47-year-old said.

She also told Howard that J-Law adored her mom, putting any feud rumor to rest. "She comes up to me and she says 'I know your mom and I had some differences at the end' - and it wasn't even over something that she said - 'but I got to tell you I loved her and she was funny,' " so she claimed.

Last year, the star of "The Hunger Games" criticized unrealistic standard propagated by the media. "There are shows like 'The Fashion Police' that are just showing these generations of young people to judge people based on all the wrong values and that it's OK to point at people and call them ugly or fat. They call it 'fun' and they say 'welcome to the real world' - and that shouldn't be the real world, it's going to continue being the real world if we keep it that way. We have to stop treating each other like that and stop calling each other fat," she said.

While one feud rumor was found unproven, apparently it didn't include Jay Leno. In her lifetime, the "Fashion Police" host reportedly had feud with "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" host who maintained the ban for her appearance on his show until her death.

Melissa suggested that Leno still held grudge against her mother as she revealed during the talk with Howard that she was snubbed by the veteran comedian. "The next morning - and this is literally my first public appearance - I walk in, and I'm standing, having a coffee with everyone in the reception area, and Jay...looks right at me, and looks away," the daughter said.

She told Howard that such gesture wasn't expected at that moment. "I sort of wrestled with this. Don't you think you still walk over and say, 'I'm so sorry about your loss, how are you doing?' or 'I know there was an issue, but please accept my condolences,' " she explained as giving examples of expected actions in such time.

Leno's spokesperson, however, denied the accusation that he snubbed Melissa, telling Us Weekly that the comedian didn't recognize it was Melissa. "Had he done so, he would've come over to extend his condolences. He apologizes if she was offended, but he did not realize it was Melissa," the spokesperson claimed.
