The 'Seinfeld' star says he discovered the country-turned-pop star after directing her in the 2007 music video for Brad Paisley's 'Online'.

AceShowbiz - Swifties should thank Jason Alexander for discovering Taylor Swift. The "Seinfeld" actor was recently at a karaoke fundraiser at the El Rey theater in L.A. when he caught up with TMZ and told them he was sort of responsible for the country-turned-pop superstar's career.

After learning that Alexander sang some of Swift's songs during the karaoke fundraiser, TMZ asked him if he's a fan of the 25-year-old songstress. "Not only am I a Swift fan, I put her in her first video," he replied.

He went on explaining that the video in question was for Brad Paisley's "Online". He directed the clip that sees "two young ladies on stage with [Paisley] - one of them is Kellie Pickler, the other one, an underage Taylor Swift."

Asked if he wanted to take credit for discovering Swift, he added, "Yeah, it's on me. I don't have to take credit, I have it."

Alexander was of course just joking. Paisley's video came out in 2007, a year after Swift put out her self-titled debut album. Also starring in the visuals were William Shatner, Estelle Harris, Patrick Warburton, Shane West, Maureen McCormick and Alexander himself.
