The 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker opens up that not all her past relationships were 'straight, heterosexual' ones.

AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus is attracted to both men and women. Speaking to the Associated Press in a press tour to launch her Happy Hippie Foundation, the former Disney star admits that not all her past relationships were "straight, heterosexual" ones.

In a more elaborate statement, she explained to Out magazine her struggle with gender expectations in the past. "I didn't want to be a boy," she said. "I kind of wanted to be nothing. I don't relate to what people would say defines a girl or a boy, and I think that's what I had to understand: Being a girl isn't what I hate, it's the box that I get put into."

The daughter of country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus posted the quote on Instagram along with a caption stressing that she didn't like label. "NOTHING can/will define me! Free to be EVERYTHING!!!!" so she wrote.

Happy Hippie Foundation is dedicated to fight the injustices faced by homeless youth, LGBT youth and other vulnerable populations. Miley will raise money for the charity by releasing a series of Backyard Sessions which include collaboration with Joan Jett and Ariana Grande.

In a "Good Morning America" interview, Miley said she was inspired by Bruce Jenner to use her celebrity status for good cause. "I thought it was really cool in Bruce Jenner's interview when he talks about using the platform. Something like being on a reality show or, you know, me being on a tour, if it gets you in front of that many impressionable people ... And taking the power with social media is the best thing ever," she explained.

Miley previously dated fellow Disney alum Nick Jonas before getting engaged to Liam Hemsworth. After splitting with the Aussie hunk, she hooked up with Patrick Schwarzenegger but they recently broke up.
