After ending the campaign over the weekend, the trio will reportedly start recording new songs for their first full-length in 11 years next month.

AceShowbiz - De La Soul's Kickstarter Campaign to fund their comeback album is a huge success. The campaign, which was announced last month and was first aimed to raise $110,000, ended over the weekend after collecting $600,829 from more than 11,000 supporters.

"Thank you so much to all of you for rewarding us with your time and help!! We have not only become the second most funded music project on Kickstarter, but we have also gained a clearer insight into how you feel about us as a group and what we do," they expressed their gratitude in an Instagram post sent out on Saturday, May 2.

"You have helped directly play a part in giving us the much needed creative fuel by showing that we still matter to all of you! In knowing that we feel nothing less than number 1!!! Much love and this music is coming your way soon!! #thankyou #blessed #delasoul," they added.

De La Soul surpassed their initial goal of $110,000 only one day after the campaign was started. Their new album will be titled "And the Anonymous Nobody" and will mark their first in 11 years. The trio will reportedly start recording next month.

"This new album will incorporate elements of Jazz, Funk, Rock, Country Western and anything else we're feeling in the moment," the group revealed what to expect from the follow-up to 2004's "The Grind Date" on their Kickstarter page.

They also said that instead of sampling other artists' works, they'd sample their own music. "Over the last three years, we've collaborated with some of L.A.'s finest studio musicians and recorded them in free-styled, unrehearsed, jam sessions," they explained. "With over 200 hours of sounds, and vibes, equal to about 250 to 300 full-length vinyl LPs, it's time that we get to the work."
