'American Idol' Recap: Russell Crowe Helps Reveal the Top 4
TV

Tyanna Jones is eliminated, while Rayvon Owen, Clark Beckham, Jax and Nick Fradiani are getting closer to getting into the finals.

AceShowbiz - It's down to four on "American Idol" season 14. Russell Crowe was delivering the envelope of results, riding his bike to the show. He was pitching his directorial debut "The Water Diviner". Later on the show, Ryan Seacrest announced that Tyanna Jones didn't make it to the Top 4.

That meant only Rayvon Owen, Clark Beckham, Jax and Nick Fradiani would sing on the live show that night. Clark performed first and tackled "Living for the City" by Stevie Wonder. Keith Urban called it "great opening to the show." Jennifer Lopez "thought it sounded really good too," but she thought it would've been way better if Clark had stayed on the piano during the whole performance.

Jax took the stage next, singing "Empire State of Mind" by Alicia Keys. J.Lo didn't think it was the best song, but she did see that Jax had "potential to take the whole thing." On the other hand, Keith said, "I loved the song for you... Even when you aren.t feeling 100|percent| like tonight you still powered through."

Nick sang "Bright Lights" by Matchbox 20. Harry Connick Jr. said, "Week to week you are looking more comfortable and that was by far the most comfortable performance that you have done." Keith and J.Lo also liked it, with the former praising Nick's "incredible killer instinct."

Rayvon performed Lady Antebellum's "I Need You Now". Keith gave him props for making the song his own, but he and the other two judges agreed that Rayvon overdramatized the lyrics and was not connected to the song.

For his second performance, Clark went with "Your Man" by Josh Turner. J.Lo said he sang it well, but it's not his "gravy song." She added, "Your earlier performances blew us away, and this song didn't do that." Harry also pointed out the importance of song choice.

Jax's second song was "Human" by Christina Perri. "This is a perfect example of the technical versus the emotional," Harry raved, although he noted there were pitch issues. Keith and J.Lo also said it was great.

Rayvon covered Justin Bieber's "Believe", which he dedicated to his mother. Harry said it was beautiful, and J.Lo felt the connection between Rayvon and the song. "Did you see the difference between what you did there and what you did before? I'm crying here, everyone was crying here," she said.

Nick rounded out the performances with Rascal Flatts' "What Hurts the Most". J.Lo declared him "the star of the night." Harry and Keith believe that the recorded version of Nick's performance will hit the charts.
