Report: Doctor Strange to Get Introduced on 'Iron Fist' Before Solo Movie
TV

Benedict Cumberatch's superhero character is rumored to show up on Netflix's series first before venturing on the big screen in 2016.

AceShowbiz - Marvel will reportedly give Doctor Strange an early introduction. Instead of teasing Stephen Strange in another movie like the studio often did with their other superheroes, they may take an unusual route this time around.

According to a new scoop, the neurosurgeon who gains superpowers after a horrific car accident will pop up on one of Netflix's series first before the character gets his own solo movie. He will appear in "Iron Fist" first if Bleeding Cool can be trusted.

Dr. Strange will be played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Slated for November 4, 2016, it is expected to become the "doorway" to enter the supernatural side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Scott Derrickson ("Sinister", "Deliver Us from Evil") will serve behind the lens.

Other new superheroes in Marvel's Phase Three include Captain Marvel and Black Panther. It's unclear how each of them will be introduced, but the studio is reportedly no longer too fond of doing origin stories like they did in the first "Iron Man" and "Captain America: The First Avenger". They are not completely okay with the idea of simply dropping a fully-formed character into the Universe either.
