Simon Kinberg Says 'Apocalypse' Will Change 'X-Men' Universe
Movie

'The aftermath of 'Apocalypse' is something that will impact the course of history in the world,' so the screenwriter teases.

AceShowbiz - Simon Kinberg discusses "X-Men: Apocalypse". The "X-Men" scribe dishes on that the next movie will lay foundation for an alternate universe as he explains how it will connect to the upcoming stand-alone flicks "Deadpool" and "Gambit".

"Things that happen in one film are acknowledged by the other movies. The result of the aftermath of 'Apocalypse' is something that will impact the course of history in the world in much the same way that the end of 'Days of Future Past' did," he told IGN.

"From 1973 forward, the world knew about mutants. A mutant took a football stadium and dropped it on the White House. That's not the history we were raised on. So, instead of ignoring it, all of the movies that come after that in the timeline acknowledge it and embrace it, and it becomes part of the complicated reality of 'X-Men' history on film."

"Apocalypse" is due May 27, 2016 in the States. Bryan Singer returns as a director, while James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, and Lucas Till will reprise their roles as Prof. X, Magneto, Beast, Quicksilver, and Havoc respectively.

Anna Paquin, meanwhile, will only return as Rogue on one condition. "If I get to fly, absolutely," she tweeted. "I'm saying that comic book rogue gets to fly and I never did. I want to be badass rogue not shy teen rogue." She only made a quick cameo in the previous installment "X-Men: Days of Future Past" after her scenes were cut due to pacing issues.

Olivia Munn is added as Psylocke in the next one, joining other new members like Ben Hardy, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, and Lana Condor who are cast as Archangel, younger Jean Grey, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Storm, and Jubilee respectively.

Channing Tatum is rumored to make his debut as Gambit before the character gets his own solo film on October 7, 2016. Jennifer Lawrence is expected to make her final appearance as Mystique in the upcoming movie, while Hugh Jackman hints at his departure after "The Wolverine 3" (May 3, 2017).
