'It was a long relationship that created heartbreak and created happiness and a lot of different emotions that I wanted to write about,' the singer says of being inspired by the former Disney star.

AceShowbiz - Justin Bieber is making new music with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez in mind. The Canadian heartthrob admitted in a new interview with Ryan Seacrest on his On Air radio show that a lot of songs planned for his upcoming album were inspired by the former Disney princess whom he dated on-and-off for years.

"I think a lot of my inspiration comes from [Gomez]," he told Seacrest during the Thursday morning, April 2 chat. "It was a long relationship that created heartbreak and created happiness and a lot of different emotions that I wanted to write about. There's a lot of that on this album."

Bieber's has been working on his highly-anticipated new full-length with hitmakers like Kanye West and Rick Rubin. "I've been in the studio with him for the past month or so," the 21-year-old star said of working with the rapper who previously teamed up with him to remix his song "Runaway Love" in 2010.

"He just pushes you. He definitely wants it to be my way and my direction and he doesn't want to steal what I want. That's why artists like to go to him, because he pulls something out of you that other people don't," he continued.

Of when the project will finally arrive, Bieber explained that he's in no rush to get it done because he wanted it to be "the best piece of art that I can create, something that's really near and dear to my heart."

"I know there's a lot of stuff that I've been going through over the past few years. I just really want to bleed it on this record," he said. "I just want people to know that I'm not playing around... I want to do something that I know that I can feel and people are going to feel it through my music. I'm pretty silent about what I've been going through, and just growing up in this life is hard. So I want to translate that."
