AceShowbiz - De La Soul's first album in 11 years is definitely happening thanks to their successful crowdfunding campaign. The rap group comprising of Posdnuos, Dave and Maseo announced the project on Monday, March 30 as they asked fans to help fund in via Kickstarter.

They originally hoped to raise $110,000, but they surpassed the goal in only one day. By Tuesday afternoon, they earned more than $230,000 from more than 3,700 supporters.

De La Soul is now getting ready to start recording the new album titled "And the Anonymous Nobody". On their Kickstarter page, the trio reveals what to expect from the upcoming full-length, which will be their first since 2014's "The Grind Date".

They promise a mix of "jazz, funk, rock, country western and anything else we're feeling in the moment" for the record. There will also be collaborations with Damon Albarn of Blur, David Byrne, 2 Chainz and Little Dragon. Additionally, instead of sampling other artists' music, the group has decided to create over 200 hours of original sounds and vibes.

The album is now scheduled for release in September.
