In addition to possible plot details of the planned series, Sean Cunningham reveals that The CW has interest in picking up the show.

AceShowbiz - Possible plot details of the long-planned "Friday the 13th" TV series have been revealed. Sean Cunningham, who directed the original 1980 film and is developing the small-screen project, spilled the beans on the matter during the Monster Mania convention this past weekend.

During a Q&A session at the event, "Sean Cunningham confirmed interest from the CW in regards to pickup for the tv show," according to Tim Jacobs who was quoted by Friday the 13th The Franchise fansite as saying. "According to him, the basic premise focuses on the REAL city of Crystal Lake, and the effect that the serialized films had on its real life counterpart. This allows them to reimagine Jason in a more grounded reality, as the films would be based off the real life killings that tool place at the Camp. (ie, both the Hockey Masked Jason and a more serious backwoods inspired killer will be making appearances throughout)," Jacobs went on revealing.

No more details were unveiled about the upcoming series. Possible title, cast ensemble, and airing date are not yet known at the time of writing.
