The song serves as the first offering from the Matthew Bellamy-led band's upcoming album 'Drones' that's out on June 9.

AceShowbiz - The wait for Muse's new music is finally over. The British band released online on Thursday, March 12 "Psycho", the first offering from their upcoming album "Drones", along with its accompanying lyric video.

In the nearly-six-minute clip, a drill sergeant is screaming into the screen before vocalist Matthew Bellamy and his bandmates appear in a dark room where they perform the song while black-and-white military footage as well as the lyrics are projected onto the wall behind them.

"Psycho" is available as an instant download for fans who pre-order "Drones" which is set to hit the stores on June 9. The album's official lead single will be "Dead Inside" that's coming out later this month.

"To me, Drones are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behaviour with no recourse," Bellamy has explained the follow-up to 2012's "The 2nd Law". "The world is run by Drones utilizing Drones to turn us all into Drones. This album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors."
