AceShowbiz - After getting kicked out of his band Blink-182, Tom DeLonge announced earlier this month that he was readying a solo album called "To the Stars". Before releasing the set next month, the 39-year-old musician dropped on Tuesday, March 10 its first track called "New World".
The up-tempo punk/rock number may or may not be a song DeLonge originally wrote for Blink-182's new album. It arrives along with a video showing the vocalist wandering around the town at night with a broken guitar slung over his shoulder.
"To the Stars" is out on April 21 and is currently available for pre-order on DeLonge's new website. In anticipation of the album, he'll share two more songs that are scheduled to arrive on March 23 and April 6, respectively. A full tracklisting will be revealed on March 16.
While he's putting the final touches on his solo effort, his former Blink-182 bandmates Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker are gearing up to play a headlining set at the Musink Festival. Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio has been hired to fill in for him for the gig slated to take place on March 20.
