The singer hopes she and the rapper can make 'something awesome' inspired by their experiences as recovered drug addicts.

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato has added Eminem to the list of musicians she wants to work with. The singer expressed her desire to collaborate with the rapper as she talked about her anticipated fifth studio album in a new interview with ET Online.

Lovato first told the site what she expected her new full-length would be like. "This year, it's super important to me that I embrace who I am as an artist and to become more authentic to who I am," she said. "I want to release music that is different, that I've never done before... and that showcases who I am and what I can do vocally."

"I'm excited to explore with different sounds which is what I'm doing in the studio right now and to see what comes about," she continued before adding what kind of songs would be included on the follow-up to her 2013 self-titled set. "You can expect ballads," she said. "But it's all about balance."

Lovato went on to talk about her dream collaborators that included Kelly Clarkson and Eminem. Of the latter name, she said, "I can relate to him with being in recovery and things like that so I think we could make something awesome together."

A few years ago, the 22-year-old pop star sought treatment for an eating disorder as well as drug and alcohol addiction. Em, meanwhile, previously battled an addiction to painkillers and other drugs.
