The actress, who is currently working on her new project 'Joy', denies rumor that she was seen having a 'showdown' with the director, saying, 'I adore this man.'

AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lawrence denied having a fight with "Joy" director David O. Russell on the set of the movie. The actress, who is currently working on the project, sent out a statement on Facebook regarding the rumored fight on Friday, February 27. "I know I don't go on here a lot because I can barely work email but there's been a terrible rumor going around the last 24 hours so I wanted to clear it up," she wrote.

"David O. Russell is one of my closest friends and we have an amazing collaborative working relationship. I adore this man and he does not deserve this tabloid malarkey. This movie is going great and I'm having a blast making it!" she explained.

Rumor regarding the actress and the director's alleged fight was reported by TMZ on Thursday. According to an eyewitness, the director screamed at her when they were on set in Boston on Tuesday. The report described, "It was ear-piercing and laced with profanities." A representative for Fox 2000 has responded to the report, calling the "showdown" method acting to prepare Lawrence and get her amped up.

"Joy" tells the story of a single mom of three who later becomes a successful entrepreneur with the self-wringing mop business. Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper and Edgar Ramirez are on board the film. Earlier this week, Virginia Madsen was reported to have joined the cast line-up. The drama arrives in U.S. theaters on December 25.
