AceShowbiz - The CW has given an early renewal to "Beauty and the Beast". The drama, which was left out of the network's list of new season pick-ups in January, has finally received an order for a fourth season.
The renewal comes four months ahead of the show's third season premiere. The romantic, police procedural series is set to return for a 13-episode third season on Thursday, May 21 at 8 P.M. on the teen-skewing network.
"Beauty and the Beast", hence, joins "Arrow", "The Vampire Diaries", "Supernatural", "The Originals", "The 100", "Reign", "Jane the Virgin" and "The Flash" which all have been renewed for 2015-16. Meanwhile, the fate of Rachel Bilson-starring drama "Hart of Dixie" is still unknown.
"Beauty and the Beast", developed by Sherri Cooper and Jennifer Levin, is loosely based on the 1980s series starring Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton. Kreuk stars as Catherine, a smart homicide detective, while Ryan portrays Vincent Keller who turns into a terrifying beast when he's enraged.
In season 3, Vincent and Catherine can finally expose their relationship to the world, but the challenge this time will be whether they can keep outside forces from tearing them apart.
