Gina Carano Jumps Into 'Deadpool' as Angel Dust

Carano's character Angel Dust is described as 'part of an underground mutant group known as The Morlocks'.

AceShowbiz - Marvel Studios has found its Angel Dust in Gina Carano and thus signs her to portray the character in its upcoming flick "Deadpool". Her signing for the film was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter which described her character as "part of an underground mutant group known as The Morlocks."

The 32-year-old actress will be starring opposite actor Ryan Reynolds who is on board to star as "an assassin who is dying of cancer who undergoes a procedure that is supposed to cure him but ends up twisted and scarred while also imbued with super-powers." Both stars are joined in the cast ensemble by recent addition T.J. Miller, whose part is still kept under wraps.

Production on the action-adventure movie is set to be kicked off in March. Tim Miller is set to serve as a director, with Lauren Shuler Donner producing.

In other Carano news, prior to landing the "Deadpool" role, she's signed to star opposite Bruce Willis in action movie "Extraction", which production has been kicked off since earlier this month. The movie is slated for 2016 release.
