Detectives will examine the phone records of the 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' patriarch and other motorists involved in the accident.

AceShowbiz - Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has opened a vehicular manslaughter investigation into the deadly car accident involving Bruce Jenner. Cops are seeking search warrant for his phone so that they can review his phone records to determine if he was texting while driving during the crash.

The investigation, however, will focus not only on the former Olympian but also on everyone involved in the chain-reaction crash that left one person dead and several others injured. Texting while driving is illegal in California and anyone breaking the law could be charged with vehicular manslaughter.

The accident happened on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu Saturday, February 7. Bruce was behind the wheel of a black Escalade which towed an off-road vehicle when he rear-ended a white Lexus, sending it into oncoming traffic where it collided head-on with a black Hummer.

Jenner was the only one indentified in the car crash. He walked away unhurt from the horrific crash, while the driver of the Lexus was killed. The victim is reportedly named Kim Howe, a 69-year-old widow who lived near the Kardashians' residence in the Calabasas gated community.

Jenner took a field sobriety test after the accident, and he passed. He also submitted a blood sample to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol. He reportedly blamed paparazzi for what happened, claiming he was chased by a group of shutterbugs and tried to evade them before he hit the Lexus. However, police disputed the claim.
