Jack White's Management Denies Blacklisting Oklahoma University for Leaking Contract

Although they agree that publishing financial terms of the show and tour rider is 'very unwelcoming,' White's management company has never said he won't play the school again.

AceShowbiz - Earlier reports suggest that Jack White's booking agency William Morris Endeavor Entertainment has banned the musician and its other artists to perform at University of Oklahoma after his contract to play there was recently published by the school's newspaper. Also published by the students-run paper is his tour rider which includes a detailed Guacamole recipe.

White, however, has denied he ruled out the possibility to perform at the school again in the future. On Friday, February 6, his management company Monotone Inc. issued a statement claiming that neither the singer nor the company ever said that he would never play the University of Oklahoma again. They also made it clear that White did not even write the rider.

As reported by Pitchfork, Monotone Inc. first said that they found the school newspaper reporting the financial terms of the show and publishing the private rider information "unfortunate, unprofessional, and very unwelcoming."

They went on explaining the importance of a rider, saying that it "lays out optimal technical specifications to ensure the audience has the best experience possible." For that, White hired "a team of very qualified touring professionals" to write his rider and "attempt to execute a professional and pleasant experience for all involved."

"Jack doesn't write the rider nor make demands about his favorite snacks that must be in his dressing room. We're not even sure he likes guacamole but we do know that the folks who work hard to put on the show do enjoy it," they added.

White's contract and rider were published by University of Oklahoma's newspaper prior to his scheduled appearance at the school's McCasland Field House earlier this month. In addition to the Guacamole recipe and the fact that the star received $80,000 for the show, the published info revealed White's no-banana policy and his post-show meal: "New York strip steak, prepared medium, no sauce, with clean, steamed vegetables on the side."
