Taylor Swift Scores Another Chart Milestone as '1989' Album Returns to Billboard 200's No. 1

The former country singer now joins Whitney Houston as the only female artists in history to have multiple full-lengths with at least 10 weeks atop the chart.

AceShowbiz - As predicted, Taylor Swift's "1989" easily returns to the top slot of this week's Billboard 200. With additional 101,000 equivalent album units, it is now spending its 10th week at No. 1, making the former country star only the second female artist in history to have two full-lengths with at least 10 weeks atop the chart.

Swift previously logged 11 weeks at No. 1 with 2008's "Fearless". She additionally has two more chart-topping albums, 2010's "Speak Now" and 2012's "Red". The other female singer to have multiple albums with 10 weeks at No. 1 is Whitney Houston, whose self titled debut album topped the chart for 14 weeks. Her second set "Whitney" had 11 weeks and the "Bodyguard" soundtrack had 20 weeks.

Only five other acts have more than one album with 10 weeks at No. 1, The Beatles (four), The Kingston Trio (three), Henry Mancini (two), The Monkees (two) and Elvis Presley (three).

Trailing behind "1989" is "X" by Swift's BFF Ed Sheeran. The Grammy-nominated set rises from No. 4 to No. 2 with 74,000 units. Meghan Trainor's "Title" is staying at No. 3 with 68,000 units while Sam Smith's "In the Lonely Hour" jumps five rungs to No. 4 with 60,000.

Closing out the top 5 is Ne-Yo's "Non-Fiction" that debuts with 59,000 and gives the R&B singer his sixth consecutive top 10 album. His previous efforts to land within the top 10 are 2006's "In My Own Words" (No. 1), 2007's "Because of You" (No. 1), 2008's "Year of the Gentleman" (No. 2), 2010's "Libra Scale" (No. 9) and 2012's "R.E.D." (No. 4).

Other albums in the top 10 are last week's first placer Fall Out Boy's "American Beauty/American Psycho" (No. 6 with 55,000), Mark Ronson's "Uptown Special" (No. 7 with 49,000), Nicki Minaj's "The Pinkprint" (No. 8 with 48,000), Maroon 5's "V" (No. 9 with 43,000) and the "2015 Grammy Nominees" compilation (No. 10 with 34,000 units).
