The polygamist on TLC's reality show divorces his first wife to wed his fourth one since he can only be legally married to one woman.

AceShowbiz - Kody Brown whose life as a polygamist is documented on TLC's "Sister Wives" has "restructured" his family. The reality TV star decided to divorce his first wife Meri, whom he married in 1990, in order to officially tie the knot with his youngest wife, Robyn.
Brown has four wives, but he can only be legally married to one woman. He reportedly divorced Meri to make Robyn his official wife so that Robyn's children from her first marriage could have benefits like insurance and security.
"We have chosen to legally restructure our family. We made this decision together as a family," they said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. "We are grateful to our family, friends and fans for all their love and support."
The Browns includes a total of 17 children. The other two wives Janelle and Christine have never been legally married to Kody.
