Taylor Swift Announces HAIM as Supporting Act for '1989' Tour

Joining tour supporters Vance Joy and Shawn Mendes, the Haim sisters will open 17 shows including five shows at Los Angeles' Staples Center in late August.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift is bringing along some of her BFFs to her upcoming "1989" tour. The country-turned-pop superstar, who has already enlisted Vance Joy and Shawn Mendes as special guests, announced on Sunday, February 1 that she'd also be joined by the girls of HAIM at select dates.

"The girls and I got to talking and I'm overjoyed to announce that @haimtheband will be joining The 1989 World Tour!! TOURING W/ SQUAD YESSSS," she tweeted. She also made similar announcement on Instagram, writing, "HAIM IS JOINING THE 1989 TOUR THIS IS NOT A DRILL I REPEAT HAIM IS JOINING THE 1989 TOUR @haimtheband."

Sisters Este Haim, Danielle Haim and Alana Haim will open 17 dates scheduled to take place in seven cities across the U.S. including two-night shows in East Rutherford, Washington, Chicago, Foxborough, Nashville and St. Louis as well as a five-night show in Los Angeles.

Swift is kicking off the North American leg of her "1989" tour in Louisiana on May 20 in support of her latest album, "1989". Currently on course to spend its 10th week at No. 1 on Billboard 200, the record has spawned singles "Shake It Off" and "Blank Space" which both peaked at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100.

Swift's decision to add HAIM to her list of guests should come as no surprise for her fans. The 25-year-old singer recently posted numerous Instagram photos of her and the Haim sisters during a vacation trip to Hawaii.
