Trainor's first full-length album 'Title' debuts at No. 1 on the chart, knocking Swift's '1989' from the top spot.

AceShowbiz - Meghan Trainor has ended Taylor Swift's reign on Billboard 200. The former's first full-length album "Title", which arrived on January 9, takes the top spot from Swift's "1989" which had spent nine non-consecutive weeks atop the chart.

Trainor's set moved 238,000 equivalent units that include 195,000 in pure album sales, which is an impressive figure considering January is a sleepy month. It also marks the biggest debut for a female pop artist's first full-length album in over five years. Susan Boyle was the last to start bigger with her first full-length "I Dreamed a Dream" which sold 701,000 copies in its first week in November 2009.

Swift, meanwhile, has to be content with being a runner-up this week. Her latest effort "1989" adds 131,000 units for the week (down 15|percent|). The album that marks her transition from country to pop star has crossed the 4 million mark total, following the footsteps of its predecessors.

Another new arrival "Kidz Bop Kids 27" enters the chart at No. 3 with 80,000 equivalent units that include 77,000 pure album sales. Ed Sheeran's "X" slips from No. 2 to No. 4 with 77,000 units (up 2|percent|) , 47 percent of it was from pure album sales.

Mark Ronson's "Uptown Special" debuts at No. 5 with 77,000 units, marking his first top 40 album. His previous best position on the chart was at No. 81 with 2010's "Record Collection".

Placing sixth this week is Nicki Minaj's "The Pinkprint", which falls from No. 3 with additional 54,000 units (down 10|percent|). Sam Smith's "In the Lonely Hour" also loses three spots, plunging from No. 4 to No. 7 with 50,000 units (down 12|percent|).

Maroon 5's "V" is back in the top 10 at No. 8 following the success of its single "Sugar". It sold 48,000 units in the past week (up 138|percent|). Hozier's self-titled album follows at No. 9 with 42,000 units (down 15|percent|), and J. Cole's "2014 Forest Hills Drive" rounds out the top 10 with 38,000 units (down 16|percent|).
