Channing Tatum's 'Gambit' Gets 2016 Release Date, 'Fantastic Four 2' Switches Date

Tatum shares the new release date of the 'X-Men' spin-off on his social media accounts, writing, 'How do you say October 7, 2016 in Cajun?'

AceShowbiz - The "Gambit (2016)" movie starring %cChanning Tatum% has secured a release date. On Monday, January 5, the actor took to his social media accounts to share the "X-Men" spin-off release date. "How do you say October 7, 2016 in Cajun?" he wrote, referring to the native dialect of the character. On that day, "Gambit" will face competitions from Warner Bros.' "Live by Night" and Universal's "Monster High".

Fox has also announced new release dates for other movies. "The Fantastic Four 2" which originally was set for July 14, 2017 is now eyeing a June 2, 2017 release date. "Planet of the Apes 3" which was first set for release on July 29, 2016 will take the superhero movie's original date.

A comedy "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates", which sees two brothers who place an ad on Craigslist to seek a wedding date, is now taking "Apes" original release date. Directed by Jake Szymanski, the movie which so far has no cast members sees no other competition on the date.

"Assassin's Creed", an adaptation from the popular video game starring %cMichael Fassbender%, is set to hit U.S. theaters on December 21, 2016. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will make its way out to theaters a few days prior. %cHugh Jackman%-starring "The Greatest Showman on Earth" which sees him playing P.T. Barnum is out on December 25, 2016.
