The British singer also talks about a possible collaboration with music icon Chaka Khan and Mary J. Blige in an interview with V Magazine.

AceShowbiz - Sam Smith may be appearing on Rihanna's upcoming eighth studio album, which is tentatively titled "R8". The British singer hinted that he had a collaboration with the Bajan beauty in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"I'm personally really excited for Rihanna's album. I know some stuff about that record that no one knows," he told the magazine. Fans then began speculating that Smith might be singing a duet with RiRi, writing a song for her or doing some behind-the-scenes works for her album.

Currently having no official title or release date, "R8" is expected to finally be released later this year. Over the weekend, a song called "World Peace" that's allegedly recorded for the LP leaked online. Rihanna, however, hasn't confirmed its legitimacy.

In other Sam Smith news, the "Stay With Me" hitmaker graces the cover of V Magazine's new issue and blasts some pop stars as he chats with music icon Chaka Khan in an accompanying interview.

Without specifically mentioning their names, Smith calls the stars "awful." He tells Khan, "And they have not even had half the success that you've had and yet you're so humble and kind." Khan replies, "Well, it's people skills. Talking to a screen all day long takes the human experience out. Luckily I grew up in a time when we only had a telephone at home."

During the chat, the duo also expresses desire to work with each other in the future. "We are definitely going to write a song together," Khan says. "Hundred percent, I'm in," Smith replies. "I was actually thinking me, you and [Mary J. Blige] would do something."
