The 77-year-old comedian is allegedly paying private investigators six-figure fees to find out information that might discredit his alleged rape victims.

AceShowbiz - Bill Cosby hired a battalion of private investigators to dig up dirt on more than two dozens women who accused him of sexual assault, the New York Post reported. According to the site, the comedian is paying the investigators six-figure fees to find out information that might discredit his accusers.

A source told the site that at least one Glendale, California-based firm which has staff consisting of a half-dozen former LAPD detectives was muckracking for Bill. According to an insider, the comedian discussed about his scandal with his legal and public relations team at a recent meeting.

"If you're going to say to the world that I did this to you, then the world needs to know, 'What kind of person are you? Who is this person that's saying it?' " Bill allegedly said at the meeting.

"You can't say that I put something in your coffee, threw you in a cab and then you go on and live a high-profile life, a famous life and you never complain," he added, referring to Beverly Johnson's claims, "You mean you never reported it to the police? You never tell anyone?"

The insider told the site about Bill's plan, "The strategy isn't new and it's quite simple: You say I'm a bad guy, well, let's see what gives you the right to throw a stone at my house when your home is also made of glass."

Another source, who worked with Bill for at least a decade, confirmed that the alleged strategy was successful in finding information to discredit Beverly and Sammy Davis Jr.'s ex-girlfriend Katherine "Kathy" McKee.

"It's sort of worked to some degree already," the source said, "They were able to find out information about Beverly Johnson's boyfriend who said she only had good things to say about Cosby. We found out that Beverly never told her live-in lover of several years what she's now telling the media and we found that to be strange."

The source added that they were able to dig up internet posts in which Kathy praised Bill's stand-up act. They also found out a published interview in which Kathy admitted that she's "used to lying."

Bill's lawyer Martin Singer refused to confirm whether his client had hired any private investigators. "You [the media] don't need private investigators to find out information about the accusers. A simple Google search will obtain the information," Martin said.

In other news, Judd Apatow has been slamming Bill in Twitter rant since Friday, December 26. "So @Centre_Square - are you really going to let Bill Cosby perform on your stage January 7?" Judd began, "You too @BudGardens Jan 8? Is Cosby only popular in Ontario Canada at this point? Do people still find him delightful after 30 accusers? He should speak publicly about how false this all is. 30 alibis."

"It is not extortion when most of the accusers do not want anything. These are much older woman who suffered for decades," Judd told a Twitter user. "@nvraine @Centre_Square I always wonder why some people try so hard to not believe women who have been assaulted. What is the root of that?" he wrote, "I think one in a Hundred thousand people support Cosby. I am gonna stop responding to them so often. It is just maddening though. So cold."

After the New York Post published the news about Bill hiring private investigators to dig up dirt on his accusers, Judd tweeted, "@PageSix they should remake the Cosby show with scenes of Dr. Huxtable doing what Cosby has been doing. A perfect show for FX."
