Former Federal Investigator Performs Racist Song Celebrating Mike Brown's Death at Charity Event

Gary Fishell, the former investigator for the federal government, was filmed singing a parody of 'Bad, Bad Leroy Brown' with insulting lyrics at the party held by a retired LAPD Officer.

AceShowbiz - While millions of people mourned the death of Mike Brown, several cops celebrated his killing with a racist song performed during a recent party. TMZ has obtained a video taken during the event, showing a man parodying "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" with insulting lyrics about Brown.

"Michael Brown learned a lesson about a messin'/ With a bada** policeman," the man sings. "And he's bad, bad Michael Brown/ Baddest thug in the whole damn town/ Badder than old King Kong/ Meaner than a junkyard dog."

He went on, "And he's dead, dead Michael Brown/ Deadest man in the whole damn town/ His whole life's long gone/ Deader than a roadkill dog."

Held last week, the party was hosted by retired LAPD Officer Joe Myers as part of a charity golf tournament. It was attended by numerous other current and former law enforcement officers. The man singing the controversial song was Gary Fishell, an Elks Lodge member and an ex-investigator for the federal government.

Fishel's lawyer has commented on the video, telling TMZ that his client is just "a goofball who writes funny songs" and "he thought the room would get a kick out of it." Myers additionally said, "How can I dictate what [Fishell] says in a song? This is America. We can say what we want. This is a free America."

A representative from the Glendale Elks Lodge, meanwhile, slammed the performance, saying, "It's deplorable and inappropriate and the Lodge will take disciplinary action against [Fishell] and possibly the people who organized the event. We don't stand for any racist things like this."

According to L.A. Weekly, the LAPD is conducting an investigation. Police currently on the force who were at at the event may be subject to discipline.
