AceShowbiz - %cAzealia Banks% had so many things to say about the current state of music industry and she didn't hold back when visiting Hot 97's "Ebro in the Morning" for an interview on Wednesday morning, December 18. The raptress took a shot at white rappers like %cIggy Azalea% and %cMacklemore% and broke down in tears as she shared her opinion on appropriation of black culture.
Banks first talked about being released from her former record label Interscope and finally dropping her long-delayed debut album "Broke With Expensive Taste" before discussing nemesis Azalea and the Grammy nominations she's earned for her works as a hip-hop artist.
"That Macklemore album wasn't better than the %cDrake% record. That Iggy Azalea s**t is not better than any fu***n' black girl that's rapping today," the outspoken "212" hitmaker said. "The Grammys are supposed to be accolades of artistic excellence. Iggy Azalea is not excellent."
"When they give these Grammys out, all it says to white kids is: oh yeah you're great, you're amazing, you can do whatever you put your mind to. And it says to black kids: you don't have s**t. You don't own s**t, not even the s**t you created for yourself, and it makes me upset," she continued.
Banks went on saying that Azalea should've been put in the pop category alongside %cMiley Cyrus%. "Put [Azalea] in the pop category. Put her and Miley Cyrus in the same fu***n' box together. Don't put her in hip-hop. Just because she's not singing, doesn't mean it's rap music."
She also vented her frustration over %cT.I.% for promoting Azalea, "You out here trying to promote this white b***h. They got your wife on VH1 and that b***h can't fu***n' read. You're a fu***n' shoe shinin' coon. How dare you."
