Movie

The Hugh Jackman-starring adventure is released one week later from the original date to avoid competition with the Marvel flick.

AceShowbiz - "Pan" now has a new release date. On Wednesday, December 10, Warner Bros. Picture changed the date to avoid direct competition with Marvel's "Ant-Man". The flick which focuses on the adventure of Peter Pan in Neverland is now scheduled for July 24, 2015 after previously targeting a July 17 release date. With the new date, "Pan" is now facing off Sony/Columbia's "Pixels", Fox's "Poltergeist" and Universal's "Trainwreck".

Hugh Jackman plays Blackbeard in "Pan" while Garrett Hedlund is cast as Hook. Levi Miller plays Peter. In addition to the three stars, Rooney Mara, Amanda Seyfried and Cara Delevingne make appearances in the film which is directed by Joe Wright ("Atonement", "Pride and Prejudice").

"Ant-Man", meanwhile, tells the story of a con man named Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd) who has the ability to shrink in size but increase in strength. Lang channels his inner hero alongside his mentor Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). Directed by Peyton Reed, it also stars Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale and Hayley Atwell among others.

A few days ago, Reed announced the movie had completed the principal photography. "And that's it! Principal photography on ANT-MAN is now complete. The ants have left the building. Stay tuned," he said in a Twitter post.
