The singer sang her 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' live at the annual event held on Wednesday, December 3 after she failed to pre-tape her performance the night before.

AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey hit the stage at the Rockefeller Center in New York City on Wednesday night, December 3 for the 82nd annual tree lighting ceremony. During the special that aired on NBC, the singer delivered a live performance of her Christmas classic "All I Want for Christmas Is You".

Baring her cleavage in a red low-cut dress, the diva was joined onstage by some black-clad backing vocalists and a group of kids dressed in all-white who danced behind her. She apparently had a bit technical problem as she's spotted touching her earpiece several times before she eventually decided to continue the performance without it.

The night before, Carey disappointed her fans when she chose not to show up to pre-tape her performance. Many people who spent hours waiting for her in the rain then gave up and left without seeing the diva.

According to TMZ, the soon-to-be-single mom ditched the pre-tape segment for a phone meeting with her divorce attorney. She appeared three hours late but NBC told her and her crew to just go home.

After the story broke, Carey took to Twitter to apologize. "Last night's situation was beyond my control. I apologize to all that showed up, you know that I would never want to disappoint you," she told her Twitter followers. "You've kept me here, in your hearts, and I keep you in mine always. We are #lambily! #ThereForMe. I will be opening tonight's live show in Rockefeller center with 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'!!!! Tune in at 8pm on NBC!"
