Ashton Kutcher Talks Fatherhood: I Feel Like Baby Whisperer

The 'Two and a Half Men' star brags about his parenting skills, saying that he has learned a few tricks to calm down his newborn daughter.

AceShowbiz - Ashton Kutcher is a proud dad. The "Two and a Half Men" actor who welcomed his first child with Mila Kunis on October 1 was beaming as he discussed his newborn daughter Wyatt Isabelle during a recent visit to Conan O'Brien's show.

"It's unbelievable. It's the greatest thing on Earth," the first-time father opened up. "We're really privileged that we have time and can afford to take time. So we don't have a nanny or a night nurse of any of the stuff. It's just the two of us."

"Staying home the first couple of weeks, I've learned the little things that will calm down the baby," he said. "So I feel like I'm the baby whisperer now." He added. "I like to give the baby to my friends and let [Wyatt] cry for a second. Then be like, 'Let me just take care of that.' "

He said little Wyatt had been on her best behavior, "I feel like we got a good one. We put her down and she sleeps. We wake up a couple times a night, and that's it. I feel really blessed."

The new dad also explained how they came up with the baby's name, saying Wyatt was not the name they initially chose. "We had another name. We had it picked out and we're like, 'All right this is the name.' Then we got pregnant a week - a couple weeks after we picked the name. But then when we were pregnant, the name just didn't fit the energy that we were feeling."

"We were calling it the baby, but never by the name that we had given it. One night Mila was just like, 'This is not the name.' I'm like, 'okay it's not the name.' I had to get the creative juices going."

"We were going to a Lakers game and I've got name Tourette's. I just started listing off anything and everything that I saw," he recounted. "I was like, 'Sign! Truck! Wall! Door!' She's like, 'Shut up!' ... Then I was like, 'All right I've got a really dumb idea. What about Wyatt?' She goes, 'That's it.' I was like, 'Really? I did it?' She was like, 'Yeah, that's it.' "

The baby's middle name, meanwhile, is more traditional. "We gave her the middle name Isabelle after Mila's grandfather ... so it has a little heritage," Kutcher explained.

After the name was set, they created social media handles for her. "We immediately went home and we reserved all the domain names. We got the Twitter handle, the Instagram - everything that you could possibly (have). I don't want a porn site with my daughter's name! It's unacceptable to me and it's not gonna happen," he reasoned.
