The 'Loyal' singer shows up in court with his lawyer Mark Geragos for a progress report in connection to Rihanna assault case.

AceShowbiz - Chris Brown showed up in a Los Angeles court with his lawyer Mark Geragos on Thursday, October 23 for a progress report in connection to his assault case. During the court meeting, the R&B singer got good review from judge James Brandlin who told him that he had been doing well with the probation.

During the meeting, the judge told Brown to carry out his community service four days a week, instead of three, so that it could be finished in January. The "With You" hitmaker's next court appearance is scheduled for January 15.

Brown is in probation after he assaulted Rihanna in 2009. The singer violated the probation last year after he got into an altercation with a man outside the W hotel in Washington D.C. He was in prison for nearly three months earlier this year.

Following his incarceration, Brown is determined to get back on the right track. "I think for me it was a humbling experience for me to become a man and mature," Brown told Extra of his experience in jail last month.

"The past year has been God's way of showing me what was necessary. You think you're invincible and I needed to look at my life and see it. I need to be more of a role model. I wanna be an icon for what I do with my talent. I want to be legendary for what I do with my music not for what happens in my personal life," he added to Access Hollywood.
