The actress who plays Kalinda Sharma on the CBS drama has signed a talent deal with 20th Century Fox TV.

AceShowbiz - "The Good Wife" is losing another of its original cast members. It has been announced that Archie Panjabi, who has played the fierce Kalinda Sharma since the first season, will leave the show at the end of the current sixth season. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.

"Good Wife" showrunners Robert and Michelle King say in a statement, "Archie is an amazing actress who helped build Kalinda from the ground up as an enigmatic, powerful and sexy character. It's been a pleasure to write for her, and we'll be sad to see her go; but we still have her for the rest of season six, so let's not exhaust our goodbyes yet. We look forward to meeting all the wonderful new characters Archie brings to the screen. But either way, we're keeping the boots."

Panjabi's contract with the hit CBS series is up after season 6. She has already signed a development deal with 20th Century Fox TV, which plans to feature her in a drama pilot in spring 2015.

Fox casting executive Sharon Klein says, "Archie is an Emmy-award winning dramatic actress, and rightly so. Her work on 'The Good Wife' has been extraordinary, and the time has come for her to star in a project of her own. We couldn't be happier that it will be with us."

The 42-year-old British actress joined the Emmy-winning drama in 2009 as a series regular. She earned a Primetime Emmy Award in 2010 and an NAACP Image Award in 2012 as well as several other nominations for her role on "Good Wife".

"The Good Wife" airs Sundays at 9 P.M. on CBS. Last season, the show killed off Josh Charles' Will Gardner as the actor, who was also an original cast member, decided to leave the series after four and a half seasons.
