AceShowbiz - Some biggest names in the game performed at 2014 BET Hip-Hop Awards that was taped on Saturday, September 20 at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center in Atlanta. Newcomer Rae Sremmurd kicked off the festivities with an energetic performance of his hit "No Flex Zone" before Common, Vince Staples and Jay Electronica hit the stage and performed their "Kingdom (Remix)".

The three rappers were backed by a gospel choir as they reminded audience at the venue that the search for justice still continued. Also joining them onstage were the parents of Michael Brown. They held a moment of silence in remembrance of the African-American teen that was shot and killed by a white cop in Ferguson, Mo., last summer.

Brandy was another BET Hip-Hop Award performer. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of her "I Wanna Be Down", she reunited with Queen Latifah, MC Lyte and Yo-Yo to sing the hip-hop remix to the song that came out in 1994 when Brandy was 15.

"Dear God, thank you for this moment! Tonight was mad real," Brandy shared her excitement on Twitter following the performance.

The Saturday event also featured performances by Lil Boosie, Ty Dolla $ign, T.I. and the show's host Snoop Dogg. Bobby Shmurda closed out the night with his "Hot N***a". He was joined by Vine star Lil Terio during his set.

The 2014 BET Hip-Hop Awards will premiere on the network on October 14 at 08:00 P.M. ET.
