Alicia encourages fellow vegan mothers to share their breast milk to others who are unable to give sufficient milk to their babies via Kind Mama Milk Share program on her blog.

AceShowbiz - Alicia Silverstone has started Kind Mama Milk Share program via her blog to facilitate vegan mothers who want to share their breast milk. The vegan actress and a vocal supporter of breast-feeding stated that the purpose of the program was to help vegan mothers who are unable to give enough breast milk to their babies.

"Because we are a community of beautiful souls who recognize the importance of food as health, I say we help support those mamas and babies who need a hand during one of the most important times in their lives," the mother of one wrote. She urged vegan mothers who wanted to share breast milk as well as others who needed vegan breast milk to write a comment on her blog post.

Many mothers, who are interested in sharing their breast milk and others who need it, flood comment section of Alicia's blog post. While the "Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker" actress offered a way of milk exchange to women who were willing, ABC news once reported that buying breast milk supply for a month could cost $300 to $1,200.

The FDA suggests that mothers use milk from milk banks and avoid acquiring "directly from individuals or through the Internet" because of contamination and infectious disease risks. In addition, methods of collecting and storing the milk should be watched to make sure that the milk is safe for the babies.
