Red Skull Could Be the Secret Villain in 'The Avengers'
Movie

A product description for HeroClix's Avengers toy line reveals that the 'Captain America: The First Avenger' baddie will provide some help to the Norse god of mischief.

AceShowbiz - When "The Avengers" hits theaters across the U.S. in 2012, the Earth's Mightiest Heroes will be seen fighting to stop Loki from threatening global safety and security, but the Norse god of mischief won't be the only villain. As speculations over the second villain grew, a product description for HeroClix's line of the Avengers toys seems to have shed some light.

"Charging straight out of theaters and onto your tabletop, Marvel's the Avengers Movie HeroClix set features heroes like Captain America and Thor as they battle the villainy of the Red Skull and Loki!" so the description read. "Each Counter-Top display includes standard one-figure boosters as well as new three-figure 'Team Packs'! Team Packs are designed with strong thematic undertones - play a Hydra force or defend freedom with a S.H.I.E.L.D. team pack!"

Whether Red Skull will indeed be the second villain in the highly-anticipated actioner remains to be answered. It should be noted, however, that at the end of "Captain America: The First Avenger", [SPOILER ALERT!] the villainous character played by Hugo Weaving is transported into another realm, which could be Asgard.

Directed by Joss Whedon, "Avengers" will see Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Tom Hiddleston as villainous Loki. Mark Ruffalo comes in as The Hulk and Jeremy Renner joins the cast as Hawkeye.

In this superhero movie, S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury assembles the Earth's Mightiest Heroes to pull the world back from the brink of disaster when an unexpected enemy that threatens global safety and security emerges. The daring recruitment effort will unravel in the big screen on May 4, 2012.
