In 'The Girl Next Door', Dean is hospitalized for a broken leg while Sam disappears to confront a girl from his past.

AceShowbiz - Dean is trading his jacket with a hospital gown in the next episode of "Supernatural". A sneak peek for the October 7 outing features the older Winchester wondering where he is and looking for his brother.
Some photos for the episode also reveal that Dean suffers a broken leg and has to use crutches. Sam himself is seemingly not in a good condition since Bobby is seen pushing him on a gurney.
In "The Girl Next Door", Sam indeed disappears to follow a lead on a case with clues that are identical to a case Sam solved as a kid, making Dean furious. The demon turns out to be Amy, Sam's high school sweetheart, who has been killing low-life thugs and taking their brains for dinner - the same demon Sam found as a kid.
The Dean depicter, Jensen Ackles, directs this episode which will air next Friday at 9/8c on The CW. Jewel Staite guest stars as Amy.
