Nicole and her one-month-old son Sparrow James Midnight Madden are featured on the cover of People magazine's latest issue.

AceShowbiz - A first look at Sparrow James Midnight Madden, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden's son, is available to be seen on the latest issue of People magazine. The baby boy, who was born on date 9 last month, is featured on the weekly publication's cover alongside his reality star mother Nicole.
Some family photos are also included, showing the mother-and-son duo posing alongside papa Joel and daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden, who turned one year old in early January. In an accompanying interview conducted at the pair's home in Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles, the celebrity parents share the ups and downs of raising two little children.
"I couldn't be happier," Nicole says. "The only thing you want is for your kids to be healthy and happy, and they are. I'm right where I belong." And though not having enough sleep, Nicole says she and Joel are happy that Harlow has started loving her little brother. "I'm glad I had a girl before I had a boy," Nicole gushes. "She just loves him so much." Joel then adds, "She's very gentle with him."
Nicole and Joel, moreover, also give explanation on Sparrow's name. "We have different tastes in names," Nicole tells People. "Sparrow was one we both liked. I liked the way it sounded with Harlow, and there's the Captain Jack Sparrow connection." As for Joel, he states, "It reminded me of the Johnny Cash song 'A Boy Named Sue.' My worry raising a son in Hollywood is what will he have to struggle for? I wanted to give him a name that he's going to have to stand up for. I love it; I think it's a beautiful name."
The news issue of People will hit the newsstands Friday, October 23.
