The Pussycat Dolls have canceled their show in New York as an opening act for Britney Spears 'due to the illness of lead singer Nicole Scherzinger.'

AceShowbiz - The Pussycat Dolls have pulled off their scheduled show as a supporting act at Britney Spears' concert in New York because Nicole Scherzinger was sick. They were supposed to open for Britney at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York on March 23.

"Due to the illness of lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, The Pussycat Dolls are canceling tonight's performance at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY," a statement on Britney's official website read. It then continues, "Britney Spears' performance will proceed as planned."

Britney's camp end their post, wishing the member of The Pussycat Dolls "a speedy recovery." More details on Nicole's status are yet to be shared though.

Nicole and her friends in The Pussycat Dolls have been hitting the road with Britney since Britney's tour was kicked off on March 3 at New Orleans Arena. Their next stop after this canceled show is at Verizon Center in Washington DC on March 24.

Aside from their tight schedule as an opening act for Britney Spears, The Pussycat Dolls are also gearing up to re-release their second studio album "Doll Domination" under the name of "Doll Domination 2.0". Eying to drop the record in U.S. stores on April 14, they will include 10 tracks, including "Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny)", the English version of the "Slumdog Millionaire" soundtrack.
