Beyonce Knowles, Bruce Springsteen Appointed for Barack Obama's Inaugural Ball

Along with will.i.am, Sheryl Crow and John Legend, Beyonce Knowles and Bruce Springsteen will be performing at a free star-studded concert celebrating Barack Obama's inaugural ceremony.

AceShowbiz - Beyonce Knowles and Bruce Springsteen have both been recruited to sing at Barack Obama's inaugural concert. The two will be performing at a free gig to be held at Washington D.C.'s Lincoln Memorial on January 18.

Other musical guests to rock the show include Mary J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, will.i.am, Usher, Shakira, Stevie Wonder and John Legend among others. Meanwhile, Queen Latifah, Jamie Foxx, Martin Luther King III and Denzel Washington will read historical passages at the event.

At the upcoming show, the singers will not be performing their hit singles. Instead, they will be delivering songs appropriate to the occasion. Springsteen will sing "The Rising" and one musician, yet to be disclosed, will be asked to perform "A Change Is Gonna Come", the song which was made famous by Sam Cooke.

Titled "We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial", the concert is aimed to kick off a four-day schedule of inaugural events that will include 10 official inaugural balls, including Inauguration-Day-eve youth concert at the Verizon Center. The gig will be broadcast by HBO at 7 P.M. EST.
