The Japanese trailer of 'Watchmen' brings more footage, emphasizing on the political crisis around the globe, while new video journal focuses on the first generation of costumed heroes, The Minutemen.

AceShowbiz - While Warner Bros are still fighting to keep the distribution rights for "Watchmen", two new videos for the graphic novel adaptation; a Japanese trailer and a new video journal, have been let out. Unlike previous trailers which focus on the heroes, this Japanese trailer, courtesy of Trailer Addict, highlights on the political side of the movie, exhibiting the alternate history with footage of U.S. President John F. Kennedy's assassination to U.S. President Richard M. Nixon's presidential term.

Putting the Japanese trailer aside, the new video journal brings to the attention the first generation of the costumed heroes, The Minutemen. Posted by Apple, the video footage contains black-and-white scenes of the Minutemen as well as explanations about the original costumed heroes from director Zack Snyder, producer Deborah Snyder, Rorschach's depicter Jackie Earle Haley, graphic novel artist Dave Gibbons and others.

Adapted from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' comic book series of the same title, "Watchmen" follows superhero-turned-vigilante Rorschach as he investigates the murder of his former colleague and discovers much more than a simple homicide case. Directed by Zack Snyder using script written by David Hayter and Alex Tse, it features the likes of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Jackie Earle Haley, Malin Akerman and Patrick Wilson.

Despite losing the legal battle over the distribution rights to The 20th Century Fox earlier, Warner Bros has issued statement to fight for an appeal in order that "Watchmen" will be debuted in U.S. theaters as planned. So far, the studio are still scheduling the action fantasy movie for March 6 release.
