NBC has made an announcement on November 14 that 21 years old singer Hilary Duff has signed a deal to star in the network's upcoming series.

AceShowbiz - "Lizzie McGuire" alum, Hilary Duff, will make another appearance on television soon. The singer has been reported to make a return to small screen by signing a deal with NBC to star on the network's yet-to-be-titled sitcom series.

Moreover, as announced by Ben Silverman, the co-chairman of NBC's Entertainment/Universal Media Studios, Duff's new sitcom will be produced by Universal Media Studios. Silverman also states further that Duff will be picked up to guest star in various current NBC's shows over the next year.

Up to news date, there is no detailed information regarding Duff's new series and other NBC's shows where the singer will guest star in. In the meantime, Duff is scheduled to meet with various writers to discuss ideas for her new sitcom.

Hilary Duff's rise to stardom came when she starred in Disney Channel's "Lizzie McGuire" as the titular character. Her recent credits on acting include co-starring role as Yonica Babyyeah in John Cusack's movie "War, Inc.". She will next be seen in three 2009 feature films, "Safety Glass", "Stay Cool" and "Greta". Duff is also widely known as a singer who has made several hit songs and sold more than 2 million copies of her album "Metamorphosis".
